Yet more RPG figures

In the enforced hiatus caused by the zombie death plague there has been little L5R going on. I have, though, been painting up more Bushido miniatures so thought I might as well share then. Not in a , 'look at my amazing figures' manner because my painting skills are perfunctory at best and the result is perhaps described as, 'best viewed from a very long distance'. But instead to give an idea of the various figures that might enhance your own campaign. The range is very good actually with a very Dragon like Monk clan, some pirates who would make excellent, erm, pirates and coming soon is a Wolf clan who would make very good travelling Samurai or aggressive Ronin plus many others. One point is that the bases below are painted for the Bushido game. Luckily for me my son wants to collect the 'Cult of Yurei' (think Shadowlands/Maho) and I like the Prefecture (Samurai) and Shiho (Ronin Samurai)

Let's start the screen shots with the Minimato clan who can be described as 'Crab' The lead dude with the Tetsubo and lots of armour would make a good Crab Samurai with the three to the left as Ashigaru and the other to the right  as a decent female Hiruma Scout.

There is a Goblin faction with this set including  two with those atypical Japanese 'Jingasa' hats.

Next up we can move to some more Samurai and I love the sculpts on these. They are painted up as  Phoenix Samurai, a Crane Daidoji Samurai and finally a Crane Courtier though considering the Satchels and books on his back it could easily be a Asako Loremaster or similar.

Forward and back shots of these. Focus is out slightly so apologies.

Next we have two decent armed peasants and a Ronin Assasin  type with a cool hat

Then we can move to the more Shadowlands/maho side of the hill with some monster women. The woman to the right has her head on the end of a long spiral of her innards.

A Giant two headed snake for your Giant Snake needs

A child prisoner (with her mouth sewn shut..) could be an evil spirit or a captured child and a wraith. The provided figure actually had knives for hands but I am lazy and that was to fiddly to glue. What did I say about me being lazy with painting..

Finally (for this round) we have an  Oni. Might be more Troll/Ogre for an L5R campaign though.

I also now have on order two female Shugenja in very decent poses (one an Air Shugenja and the other probably a more combat orientated one) two zombie Japanese peasants and an armoured Wraith that looks more militant than the other. I will update when they are painted.

Anyway have a look and if you are interested see the range at https://gctstudios.com/store

The Bushido game is a very good skirmish game as well so you can multitask the figures and it would be very, very easy to have an L5R spin on it (private spin of course due to different copyrights so you paint your Prefecture of Ryu/Shiho as any militant Samurai clan, Minimoto as Crab or however you want. Or alternately they can be used as a very good fantasy Samurai figures with a hint of magic for your own L5R RPG game.

I do wonder what some of the quality painters here could do with the figures and considering some of the paintjobs done on the Bushido facebook group you can probably visit there for a better idea of what they can look like.
