Discord League 12 Mid-season report

It's been a while since I have done a discord league update and since I now longer have detailed access to the ELO's it makes it a little harder. Nothing that random speculation will not cover though. Since I only remember the oldies speculation will be heavily biased towards those oldies.

Overall

At the half way point the league looks quite healthy.  Of the 24 active groups no less than 8 have had zero drops and a further 12 a reasonable 1-2 drops. That leaves 4 groups of 'pants'

Group 18 another 3 drops

So congratulations to these four groups for utterly sucking.

Random Mumblings

Not bad. Elsewhere some famous names still seem to be doing well. Micah and bitmetal are both forging ahead in group 1& 2 with Mitumoto Kai managing a perfect 5-0 record in group 3. Group 4 has Jokingly at 4-0 and I don't recognize anyone in group 5 though Schrodes is apparently a Hatamoto which his 7-0 seems to validate. 6 has Jeremy at 5-1 and 7 has Leniel doing well with 4-0.  Group 8 is full of mystery people whereas 9 has stroppy famed Crab JoeFromCincinati currently at 3-1 though he may have his work cut out for him as 2 of those wins came from drops and three other pod members are on a round robin type 5-1.

In Group 10 I recognize Fyeya at 4-0 and no one else though I have to give a quick shout out to KolbraKai who is obviously a dyslexic Karate Kit supporter. Group 11 has all round L5R famous dude MindsDesire who in an attempt to keep things interesting has managed to actually lose a game which must have generated some head scratching and 'dear diary you would not believe what happened today?' moments. There a couple of other old timers in Neph 2-2 and Humblestmonk 3-0, though I only remember Humblest as he beat me in a pod around a year ago joining a large and apparently un-exclusive bunch capable of doing the same.

Group 12 is also full of strangers though foxhound 'might' be a player who did appallingly badly in the first ever discord league obtaining the worse record and thus ELO ever at that point. Seems to be doing okay now though with a 3-4 record so it's either a different person or huzzah for skill improvements. Group 13 is full of more strange people and 14 has Onimaru at 3-2 who I know better from the Crane boards/facebook. The group has several old names who all appear to be perhaps doing well or about to dive with SirLargeness, LGB and Sruman all between 2-1 and 3-1. Might be one of those 'avoid playing the best players until the end' things.

Group 15 has TravisFightsDragons sitting pretty on 6-0 with Phoenix. Apart from Travis most of the group seems to have lost to each other a lot so that could go all over the place. Group 16 has strangers apart from Damabiah at 3-1. Group 17 is mine with Leenath strutting his stuff to 6-0 and 'other people' called Neojko and Pyxis doing well. With 4 drops its hard to tell though.

Group 18 has old Scorpion fan personage Heinzel rocking to a 5-0 record with Dragon. This is a 3 drop group so the records like 17 are worse than they appear. In Group 19 Kakita Minto seems to be doing well at 5-1. Gomes and Enegon also seems to be doing well  though Gomes seems to be doing well with Lion so must be cheating. Group 19 has current Shogun Erik at 5-0. Erik also bitch slapped me in his first ever pod around Season 2 ish but who hasn't? The rest of the pod seem made up names thus I am not sure they actually exist.

Group 21 I only recognise Steelfur and a religious Christian is ruling the group with Unicorn at 6-0. When I last played the league Unicorn were an afterthought. Now favoured by the Gods of 'over rebalancing too far in the other direction' - the altar of which all Unicorns worship at also blocking the crowds of Lion players desperate for the same (don’t panic Lion players Tyler recently stated that by the end of the year Lion would be dominating everything so huzzah for balance).

This just leaves three groups. 22 has PhoenixFox at 6-1 with Phoenix which matches the name but he/she/it is a Dragon Hatamoto so is another cross clan dressing personage. Demagogue is another known but is only currently at 2-1. Group 23  was one of the drop pod of pants and Group 24 has Chut! and the suspiciously named Lammia though that's probably just my warped mind.

So there we have it. No useful information.
